Bak Gua ~ or BBQ Pork

Not travelling ...then go cooking...Pork meat ~~ Bak Gua

This is non-halal.
Replace with chicken and omit the wine for all my Muslim friends....I know a lot out there.

Tried making Bak Gua....

Ingredients

500 gm pork, minced (use chicken, or beef)
1 and half teaspoon fish sauce
1 and half teaspoon Hsao Hsing wine (optional)
1 and half teaspoon light soya sauce
1 and half teaspoon dark soya sauce
5 tablespoons sugar

1) Mix all the above ingredients until sugar dissolves.

2) Scoop two tablespoons of the mixture and place the mixture on a plastic sheet.

Oops, camera not behaving.....

3) Put another plastic sheet above the mixture. Use a roller and flatten the
mixture to a big flat piece.

Oops, not again....

4) Transfer the flat piece to an aluminium foil.

5) Place the foil into a pre-heated oven of 130 degrees Celsius. Grill for 10
minutes.

Pic shows the amount of liquid on foil after this grilling.

6) Put the half grilled pork onto the grill and grill it for another 15 minutes on
180 degrees Celsius (can be higher).

Out from the oven....hot stuff, and shiny....

7) Cool the bak gua, it is ready to be eaten.

Going..............

Going..............

Going.................

Almost, gone.....

Note: Line the base of oven with foil.

If not, a lot of cleaning up to do after all the grilling.

Happy cooking.
